Cultural capability and Business Success Event

On Wednesday 24 August 2022, the Superdiversity Institute with its major sponsor for this event nib, and sponsor Ministry of Ethnic Communities, hosted a panel discussion over lunch at the Park Hyatt in Auckland.

Mai Chen interviewed:

  • Kiri Nathan, top NZ fashion designer, whose label is worn by the Prime Minister, on h

  • Shayne Walker, Group CE Ngāti Porou Holding Company, on his Maori view of ESG and how it wins them business with Asian and Pacific owners and drives who the iwi is prepared to do business with;
  • Scott Pritchard, CEO Precinct Properties New Zealand – with a particular focus on the cultural leadership needed to successfully complete the building of Commercial Bay; and
  • Angela Lim CEO and Co-Founder Clearhead, corporate mental health support for workplaces and individuals, which now services 7% of NZers and is expanding globally, by personalising the services to the cultures of its users.

Upon commencement of the event, the Superdiversity Institute  launched its “Cultural Capability and Business Success” report, profiling the role that culture has played in driving business success for each of the panelists. The report is available on our website and the video link to the event will be available online.

With an excellent turn out from attendees, this event was insightful and a great opportunity for attendees to understand how some of New Zealand’s top leaders have used their cultural leadership to achieve business success.
