The directors of the failed construction company Mainzeal, who include former prime minister Jenny Shipley, have been ordered to pay the company’s creditors $36 million. A bill which would allow people to change their sex on their birth certificate has been deferred, with authorities citing inadequate public consultation. A new report by Oranga Tamariki and the Office of the Children’s Commissioner has been released – one which actually compiles the opinions of children themselves.
